Beau

Beau

Beau is a 6 year old Hanoverian gelding. He’s a big boy at 17.2 hands and he follows in Art’s hoofsteps as a lovable overgrown puppy.

Written by Helena

I first saw him when he was a foal and immediately fell in love with him, partly because he looks very much like the Swedish warmblood I had as a teenager. I have admired him from a distance for a long time but knew he was well out of my price range.

Beau only had one owner before me and she did everything right with him. But Beau had some issues from a slip a few year ago, that they were never able to get to the bottom of. After consulting several professionals who could not identify what the issue was, his previous owner had to come to the difficult decision to let him go as she just didn’t have the time to rehab him. She made this decision around the same time I found out that Mira had to be put down. Yogi knows me very well and knew that this rehab project was just what I needed to keep going after the sad news about Mira.

Yogi and I are very good at enabling each other when it comes to bringing horses to the sanctuary 🙂

So far Beau is getting along great, he’s walking the hills to strengthening his muscles and I have started introducing trick training to keep his mind busy. He is an absolute sweetheart who loves attention and always does his best to please me.
