Students
Handibear Hills provides a venue for the Community Service Bursary. This bursary is provided by the PEI Department of Education for tuition to a Post-Secondary Institution of your choice. Students can receive credit for a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 100 hours total towards tuition ($500) working for a non-profit or a non-political organization. Credits may be accrued during grades 10, 11 and 12 up to the year of graduation from High School. Students may apply through their student counselors office. It doesn’t take long to gather 100 hours of community service at the Sanctuary.
Volunteers
Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated. Whether you are a wrecker or a builder there is always lots of projects at the Sanctuary. Fencing is always an ongoing chore, Post holes to dig, stakes to pound.
We need people to help out around the Sanctuary. If you or anyone you know has access to resources and skilled trades, we love to have you help out. Without volunteers Handibear Hills could not survive or be what it is today without the growing support and dedication of everyone with a passion of horses.
